Kern County is thrilled to announce that our area is one of only nine communities across California to be awarded grant funding from Neighbor-to-Neighbor, a program for California 志愿者s, 总督办公室.

Kern County will utilize $500,000 specifically awarded to the Kern River Valley to uplift this community by strengthening its collaborative network with the Kern River Valley Art Association, Riverstone健康, Sierra共享空间, and Hopester to provide neighborhood resiliency and economic development activities to Kern County’s first supervisorial district.

“I’m very excited for the opportunities this funding will create for the Kern River Valley. It will help to elevate a community that already excels at providing outstanding recreational opportunities for tourists and Kern County residents alike,菲利普·彼得斯说, Kern County’s first district supervisor.

The Neighbor-to-Neighbor initiative aims to support neighborhood social connection and volunteer stewardship in California to build stronger communities.

在接下来的两年里, Kern County will hold a series of resiliency activities to strengthen the Kern River Valley’s network, 社会资本, and civic engagement and contribute significantly to this community’s economic development. The Kern River Valley is Kern County’s tourism hub, and it is vital that we support this area of opportunity by increasing access to information and resources that will aid in regional growth.
